British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”

This update on his health comes as the sports world shared sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
