Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Instagram
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
