Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
